about

You travel half way around the world in the name of love, only to be rejected. Not shown the sights in Melbourne by your beloved, instead you spend your time playing chess with Chinese strangers in the public library. Out of homesickness you get a pretzel tattoo. This adventure is put to poetry written by your mother in the United States, and this again ends up as a song on your new solo album. Sounds a little unlikely but in SAMYs life, not.
Just as normal as SAMY growing up in Zürich/Switzerlang, Munich/Germany, Mühldorf/Germany, Rhode Island/USA, Salzburg/Austria and again Munich/Germany where, while taking the school bus, one day he happens to meet some dude with whom he continuously travels on tour for the next 20 years, playing over 2.000 concerts.
SAMY is definitely a singer-songwriter. Yet his music is versatile and authentic. He knows how to play folk, indie and blues. Due to so much worldly exposure, exchanges and workshops his music has obviously been coloured by African and South American rhythms as well. Pure enjoyment.

about

Jamaram Munich, Germany

It is hard to say for how many bright faces JAMARAM can be accredited for within the previous 20 years of performing live on stage. With approx. 100 shows a year, the number of singing mouths and dancing legs in the audience probably ranges into the hundreds of thousands. Having toured halfway around the world and despite, or maybe because of their longevity, the band is far from retiring! ... more
